Section 24: GRADED PIANO SOLOS, ETUDES AND CONCERTOS
NOTE
Refer to Rule 17.
Graded classes are for the "LATE BEGINNER", those students who have NOT had sufficient years of training to enable them to be competent in solo classes in their own age groups. For example, if a student is 9 years of age and playing Grade 2 pieces or higher, he/she may NOT enter the graded section but must enter "age classes". The student may not play below the grade studied in January of the Festival year. Senior students who have obtained their Associate examination or equivalent MUST enter the OPEN classes. Teachers, please note that the age of each student must be correctly entered on the Entry Form. Students who enter the Graded Piano Solos and Studies and Concertos (Section 24) may not enter any other piano solo classes. However, the students may also enter Duet, Duo, Trio, Technique, Sight Reading, Popular and Non-Competitive classes.

Classes 2401, 2404, 2407 & 2410: Own choice work from the Baroque or Classical period.

Classes 2402, 2405, 2408 & 2411: Own choice work from the Romantic or 20th century period.

Classes 2403, 2406, 2409, 2412, 2417, 2422, 2427, 2432, 2437, 2442, 2447 & 2452: Own choice work from any musical period.   

Classes 2495 to 2497 are CONCERTOS for Graded Piano Students.
